Indian woman cuts off lover's genitals after finding out he's marrying someone else

A man had his genitals chopped off by a spurned lover in Malappuram, a city in the Indian state of Kerala, after she found out he was marrying another woman, Mail Online reported.

The injured man, named only as 26-year-old Irshad, met up with his lover, 30, for ‘one last time’ before he was due to tie the knot with a bride of their parents’ choice.
The scorned lover invited him to a guest house in Malappuram’s Kattipuram area, where she cut off his genitals with a knife on Tuesday, it is claimed.
Adjoining guests heard him scream and they rushed him to MIMS Hospital in Kozhikode, where he is still undergoing treatment.
A video shows him lying in a hospital bed giving the thumbs up despite his condition.A police official said: “The man is undergoing treatment at MIMS Hospital as of now. He was staying in the lodge with a woman. We have taken her into custody for questioning.”

He added that the victim had suffered a partial cut and was first taken to a local hospital but had to be transferred later.Police have refused to divulge any further information, saying that the case is under investigation.

This is not the first case where a woman has cut off a man’s genitals. In July this year, a Tamil Nadu woman was accused of chopping off her husband’s genitals after a fight over his extramarital affair. A Bengali woman had also allegedly resorted to a similar brutal act in July as she was unhappy with her marriage.
A few months ago, a woman had chopped off the genitals of a swami in Kerala. She had said that she had to take such a drastic step as she was being sexually assaulted by him for about seven years. The woman, however, later changed her statement in court. Earlier ,An Indian woman cut off a man’s penis after he allegedly tried to rape her at her house in the southern state of Kerala, police said on Saturday.

The 23-year-old law student was at her residence in the state capital Thiruvananthapuram late Friday when she says she was attacked by the 54-year-old man, who had claimed to her family to be a religious guru.
“She used a knife in her defence and cut off his penis,” district police chief G Sparjan Kumar said.
“The man, Hari Swami, was rushed to the nearby government hospital in a serious state,” he added.
The local media reported that Swami was in a stable condition after undergoing emergency medical procedures at the local hospital.
The woman claimed the man had been assaulting her for several years, according to Kumar, who said police had registered a case against Swami for sexual offences against a minor and rape.
Police said the girl’s parents, who live at the same house, were unaware of the assaults by Swami.
“The woman told us that her parents blindly trusted this Swami, and he used to get frequent invites to perform special ceremonies and stay over at their house, where he assaulted her,” Kumar said.
She is now under police protection and receiving trauma counselling.
There have been other recent incidents of sexual assault involving religious men in the southern Indian state.
Two nuns and a priest, accused of covering up the birth of a baby born to a teenage girl who was allegedly raped by another priest, were arrested in Kerala last month.
Last year, a priest was sentenced to 40 years in prison by a Kerala court for raping a 12-year-old girl in 2014.
Hari Swami, aka Gangeshananda Theerthapada, claims to be a spiritual healer and is a former inmate of the Panmana Ashram in Kollam district
