Three educationists were killed in road mishap near Murree

MULTAN, July 8th: Three senior proferssors of Government Emerson College Multan were killed in a road accident in Chakri,, near Rawalpindi early Saturday.They were going to attend an awareness seminar.Professor Rana Dilshad,Divisional President of Tanzeem Asatiza Pakistan(TAP), Professor Rao Zafar Iqbal and president of Punjab Professors Lecturers Association, Professor Rao Zulfiqar were heading to Murree when they met a tragic accident. The dead bodies were shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences Islamabad from where they would be sent back to Multan.Police and rescue sources said the four were travelling to Muree when their vehicle met an accident near Chakri Interchange on the motorway, leaving them critically injured. Three of them died on the spot while another received severe injuries.Rescue officials said the deceased and injured were shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital, Islamabad.  Three deceased have been identified as Prof Rana Dilshad, Rao Zulifqar and Zafar Iqbal and the injured as Shiekh Ramzan who were employed at Government Emerson College Multan.Police said the dead bodies were being transferred to Multan for their burial at their native town.The accident occurred due to over speeding. According to the police, the driver was in drowsy state and therefore he couldn’t control the car due to over speeding.
