Zeeshan Ali, IRNA Photojournalist was assaulted in Islamabad

An Iranian photojournalist, working at the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), was assaulted by two unidentified men on Friday in Islamabad.

Zeeshan Ali was taking photographs, depicting the observance of Ramazan in Pakistan, in Islamabad’s G-8 area when armed men assaulted him and stole his equipment on gunpoint.
When Zeeshan tried to resist the attack, the assailants stabbed him with a knife and fled the scene, leaving him injured.
Eye witnesses immediately informed the IRNA office about the incident and the bureau chief had Zeeshan shifted to a hospital. The incident was also reported to the police.
Zeeshan, who has been an active IRNA photojournalist for many years, also takes photos at cultural, social, political and sports-related events in Pakistan published daily on the Iranian website.
