Oeko-Tex Certification Seminar succcssfully organised in Multan

MULTAN, April 26th: Hohenstein Pakistan succcssfully organised Information seminar about Oeko-Tex Certification in Multan on Wednesday.The seminar was intended to create more awareness to the standard and the services provided by the company. Country Head S.M. Khalid has presented the details of Oeko-Tex testing. In his concluding address Khawaja Muhammad Younas, Chairman of All Pakistan Bed sheets & Upholstry Manufacturers Association said that value added sector should come forward for OEKO-Tex certification in to get access to international markets  without any hurdle. He said that Ministry of Science and Technology  would repay Rs 2,00,000 to Rs.4,00,000 as compensation .They can submit their claims through the association. He said that some member of APBUMA have submitted their claims which were referred to the ministry for payment and other should submit their claims as early  as possible after getting certification which was necessary for international trade. He said that Last year Pakistan, Bangladesh and India suffered a severe setback when the company cancelled the  OEKO-Tex certification.S.M.Khalid spoke on the topics of  clothing technology, consumer tests,Fit and workmanship Hygiene, environment and medicine, Textile testing, Industrial laundry, Textile physiology, Oeko-Step,DETOX, and made in green by Oeko-tex and said that Hohenstein Institute is specialized for nearly 70 years in the testing and certification of textile products of all kinds. It is  extremely familiar with manufacturing processes and can offer to customers a range of testing and services designed to meet their particular needs.We help to solve problems at all stages of processing, and assist with the marketing of products we have tested by issuing certificates and labels both for the B2B sector and for the end consumer. Member of APBUMA , Managers from various departments from textile industry, garment and accessory manufacturing units have participated at the event. He said that the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is a worldwide consistent, independent testing and certification system for raw, semi-finished, and finished textile products at all processing levels, as well as accessory materials used. Examples of articles that can be certified: raw and dyed/finished yarns, woven and knitted fabrics, accessories, such as buttons, zip fasteners, sewing threads or labels, ready-made articles of various types (garments of all types, domestic and household textiles, bed linen, terry products and much more).Syed Muhammad Aasim Shah threw light on the importance of certification for international trade and said that With its decades of experience, the OEKO-TEX. Standard 100 therefore contributes to high and effective product safety from a consumer’s point of view. Test criteria and limit values in many cases go far beyond applicable national and international standards, Syed Muhammad Ahsan Shah, Muhammad Ahmed ex-Chairman of Multan dry port also took part in the seminar.
